MAXX is Auckland's regional transport brand for bus, train and ferry services. The MAXX website and call centre provides accurate information about public transport in Auckland, including timetables, prices and disruptions.

Auckland Transport
Auckland Transport is responsible for all of Auckland’s transport requirements (excluding state highways) - from roads and footpaths, to parking and train, bus and ferry services.
Auckland Transport is responsible for the day to day activities that keep Auckland’s transport systems moving. These include the planning and funding of public transport, promoting alternative ways to get around the city and operating the local roading network.
It is also responsible for preparing the Regional Land Transport Programme (RLTP) which sets out projects and services to be funded by Auckland Council and the NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) over the next three years.
By working closely with Auckland Council, which sets the strategic direction for transport, Auckland Transport will also help carry out the Council’s Long-Term Community Plan.

KiwiRail
KiwiRail is the trading name for the New Zealand Railways Corporation (NZRC), which is a State Owned Enterprise. KiwiRail is responsible for the “below-rail” elements of the Auckland rail network, including tracks, signalling, station platforms and train control. It is also responsible for building the infrastructure for electrification and the procurement of the new Electric Trains (Electrical Multiple Units).
